Roots Music From The Welsh Frontier

Picture

From an acoustic duo to a five piece rocking electric band - a band for every occasion

A selection of short clips from one of The Whiskey River Trio's  live gigs over St Patrick's weekend, 2024,
plus a couple from The Whiskey River Duo from late 2023 at a harmonica event in Birmingham UK

Whiskey River play Americana - Cajun, Zydeco, Folk, Good Country, Blues and a spattering of Celtic Music. With many years experience of performing, these guys deliver the goods whether in acoustic or full electric mode. Small venues and  budgets can be catered for by the two founder members Martin Blake & Aidan Sheehan [click on each of their names for more details] as an acoustic duo, whereas larger venues and pockets could go for an acoustic trio/quartet or move into the realms of bass, drums and electric instrumentation with the 5 piece.

"We've had many great evenings at the Redcatch Club, but I felt that The Whiskey River Duo were perhaps the best ever. Superb musicianship and singing, excellent variety, stylistically innovative and not least, great fun. High expectations were met in full"

- Trevor Carter, The Redcatch Club, Bristol, October 2021

What a night! The first ever Live at Llanover was a soulful success.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of swampy blues, retro fiddle, and acoustic folk-rock magic. Whiskey River lit up the stage with harmonica, accordion, and fiddle-driven tunes that had us tapping toes and raising glasses.
From the Rolling Stones to Hank Williams, the setlist was a journey through roots and rhythm—and the comfy seats weren’t bad either!
